The Declining White Majority

There seems to be a growing concern regarding the declining White majority.  I don’t know if such a decline is the truth or not.  But assuming it is, let me remind you of something:  the main thing with which you should be concerned regarding the state of our country is freedom—not the race of the constituents.

And let me remind you of something else:  the Civil War, the income tax, 17th amendment, and Federal Reserve System, World Wars I & II, Korea and Vietnam, and most of the dramatic incidents that have brought this country to its current condition were not brought about by minorities.

In a free society, the most capable rise to the top, regardless of race, creed or national origin.  A free people will beget free people regardless of their physical characteristics.  Following that paradigm our condition and our country as a whole will improve - regardless of the physical makeup of the populace.

So let’s concentrate on freedom and quit worrying about the race of the patriots involved in the fracas.

Should we invade Syria?

We cannot protect a people from their own government.

Those people must take responsibility for their situation and deal with it themselves.  They far outnumber their government and certainly have the capacity to change their situation themselves.

Who is Responsible for a County's Economic Growth?

The RCECD proposes to be responsible for economic growth in Racine County.

However, they cannot do it, nor can any governmental entity perform such an operation.

What a group that took responsibility for a county's growth would do would get every bit of governmental control of economic activity abolished and leave the private sector alone to perform as best it can in the field of business.

And if that group were successful, you would see—by today's standards—business miracles performed.

What's the difference between a libertarian and a conservative?

The signature difference between a libertarian and a conservative is that the libertarian deregulates.  The conservative does not like deregulation preferring government control over questionable individual activities to keep us safe and secure.

Which brings up the second difference between the two:  The libertarian is more concerned about your freedom than your life.  To the libertarian one is "better dead that red."  The libertarian would rather die than live as a slave. The libertarian lives Benjamin Franklin's famous admonition regarding giving up liberty to obtain safety.

How to really "End IRS Abuse."

There is a lot of talk in the upper realms of politics these days about ending IRS abuse.  We are treated to displays of indignation, on both sides of the aisle.

There is only one way to end such abuse permanently:  END THE INCOME TAX.   There is no other solution; never has been; never will be.

Yet I have heard no one put forth that resolution, either Republican or Democrat (or media).  Until someone puts ending the income tax on the table for discussion, no one is seriously considering ending IRS abuse.

The talk so far has been merely an effort by the adversaries to use the IRS activities as a means to gain more political power.

Free markets and individual rights

Free markets will not exist without personal freedom. The Asian Tigers thought they could do it, but failed.

Ultimately your free markets will succumb to fascist control without broad based personal freedoms.

200K for the new RUSD Superintendent

It's a good deal if you can get it:  200K for a job for which you have no track record or other indication of competence.

Why is the RUSD board doing this?  My guess is desperation.  They need someone there fast.  Further delay exhibits their incompetence.

The fact of the matter is that Unified's problems are structural.  Unified is organized to to fail.  The new superintendent won't be doing anything about that situation and will also fail.

Rent-to-own may return

Deregulation in Wisconsin? That is pretty high up on the freedom scale. But that is what the Republicans in the state legislature are considering: exempting Rent-to-own from the Consumer Protection Act.

Deregulation is a libertarian concept. Libertarians assert that people should take responsibility for their own actions, including the purchase of goods and services. "Buyer beware" is a libertarian concept.

It sound good to have rules and regulations to protect consumers against fraudulent providers. But that is really the job of the free market. And it is why, in a free society, entrepreneurs must work their way up the economic ladder, starting with small transactions and building up to bigger deals. The market has to test that entrepreneur on a small scale. And if the entrepreneur shows he or she can do the job right and be trusted, then it is on the bigger things.

That is why, in the free market businesses live and die off their reputations.

It all gets back to responsibility. If people don't want to take responsibility for their services as well as their purchases, then they get what they are getting now: a highly regulated, poorly performing market place, in want of opportunity, business and jobs.

Let’s see if the Wisconsin legislature, executive and judicial branches can actually manage this step towards a freer market place. For this group, such an attempt is highly unusual.

Balancing the budget and limited government

A balanced budget is the most fundamental barrier to runaway government. A government that is limited to spending only what it taxes is severely limited in its expansion and intrusion into its citizens' lives.

Conversely, a government which is allowed to spend money without regard to any limitation, can be expected to become intrusive and oppressive.

If a group wants to limit the size, scope and particularly the growth of govevrnment, a good place to start is forcing it to balance its budget.

The economy is not driven by consumption

The economy is not driven by consumption. That is why Keyensian Economic theory does not work when applied to actual economic conditions. If consumption brought about economic growth, there would never be an abatement of economic expansion as the human desire to consume is never ending.

The best pun ever.

I think this is the best pun I have ever read, probably because of it's political savvy:

War does not determine who is right; it determines who is left.
